Madison McLeish (born October 31, 1992 in Richmond Hill ) is a Canadian ski racer . She starts in all disciplines.

biography

Madison McLeish grew up in Whistler and started skiing when she was two. At the age of eleven, she started a junior program at the Whistler Mountain Ski Club with regular training and participation in races. After a hip injury, due to which she could not compete in the entire winter of 2007/2008, McLeish took part in the 2008/2009 season for the first time in FIS races and the Canadian championships. She soon reached podium places in FIS races and celebrated her first victory before the end of the season. After joining the Alberta Ski Team, she also took part in races in the Nor-Am Cup from the 2009/10 season . Her first podium in this racing series was achieved on February 28, 2010 with third place in the Super Combined by Aspen . In October 2010, McLeish suffered a concussion while training in Austria , after which she had to take a six-week break. In December 2010 she took part in competitions again and celebrated her first victory in the Nor-Am Cup on the 13th of the month by winning the Super-G in Panorama . At the 2011 Junior World Championships in Crans-Montana , she achieved two top 15 results in Super-G and giant slalom. At the end of winter she became Canadian Super-G Champion .

In May 2011, McLeish was added to the roster of the Canadian Ski Federation. She drove her first World Cup race in Lake Louise on December 4th of the same year , but only crossed the finish line second to last in this Super-G.
