Johann Wenzel von Zastrow

Johann Wenzel von Zastrow (born December 11, 1717 , † April 24, 1773 in Gräditz near Posen ) was a Prussian major general .

family

Johann Wenzel came from the Zastrow family and was a son of the royal Polish major George Berend von Zastrow († 1758) and Ernestine Charlotte Anna Hedwig von Jannewitz from the house of Volschar. He was married to Charlotte Wilhelmine von Lehwald (1715–1795) since 1763 .

Life

Zastrow served with the Dragoons from his youth , becoming a lieutenant in 1741 , a staff captain in 1756 , a major in 1757 and a colonel in 1759 . In this rank, Zastrow was promoted to Chief of Dragoon Regiment No. 1 in 1761 and finally, in 1764, to Major General.

He distinguished himself in the Battle of Kolin , after which he was awarded the order Pour le Mérite by the king .

Zastrow was governor of Stolp (1766) and Oletzko (1768) and heir to Groß- and Klein- Tippeln in East Prussia .
