Werthebach Commission

The Werthebach Commission (actually: Commission for the Evaluation of the Security Authorities ) was an expert commission headed by the former President of the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution, Eckart Werthebach, and was set up by Federal Minister of the Interior Thomas de Maizière on April 19, 2010.

assignment

The task of this commission was to present the tasks as well as the operational organization of the individual German security authorities at federal level ( Federal Criminal Police Office , Federal Police and Federal Customs Administration ), to compare them and to develop proposals for better cooperation and possible interlinking.

Result

The report was presented on December 9, 2010 and the main recommendations are:

At the end of June 2011, the decision to reorganize the Federal Police was announced.
