Madra is a mountain village at 1086 meters above sea level in the municipality of Serravalle , in the Blenio district , in the canton of Ticino , in Switzerland . It used to belong to the former municipality of Malvaglia .
geography
5.7 km as the crow flies northeast of Malvaglia , it is located in Val Malvaglia , the valley of the Orino river , a tributary of the Brenno . Above the village lies the Val Madra valley , whose Alp Pianèzza is accessible via a cable car . A road leads to Malvaglia. Together with the other villages in the valley, Madra is listed in the inventory of places worth protecting in Switzerland .
