Madrid is a village in the north of the US state New Mexico in Santa Fe County . It has an area of ​​3.7 km² and had 204 inhabitants at the 2010 census . The population density is 40.5 inhabitants per km². It gained fame through the film Born to be Wild from 2007, which partly takes place there. Madrid is the birthplace of actress Mae Marsh .
