Mads Glæsner (born October 18, 1988 in Tårnby , Denmark ) is a Danish swimmer .

Career

Mads Glæsner's first international success was winning the bronze medal in the 400 meters freestyle at the European Short Course Championships in Rijeka in 2008 . In the summer of the same year, at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing , he reached twelfth place over 400 meters freestyle and 14th place over 1500 meters freestyle.

At the Swimming World Championships in Rome in 2009 Glæsner was fifth in the 400 meter freestyle. A few months later, at the European Short Course Championships in 2009 in Istanbul , he won bronze medals over 400 meters and over 1500 meters freestyle.

At the short course world championships in 2012 he won gold over 1500 meters freestyle and bronze over 400 meters. But his doping test was positive for levomethamphetamine. He had to return the medals and was banned for three months.
