Magdalena Stoof

Magdalena Stoof (born September 24, 1951 in Werdau ) is a German Egyptologist . She graduated from the University of Halle in 1976 . The doctorate took place there in 1980 on the subject of "Investigations into the storage and storage of grain in ancient Egypt" . Since 1980 she has been an assistant at the Institute for Oriental Archeology , today the Institute for Classical Studies . 1992 habilitation they are in Halle on "Egyptian seal amulets in human and animal form. An archaeological and motivational study ” and now teaches as a private lecturer. Stoof is primarily concerned with the archaeological side of Egyptology, especially the seals and scarabs . She is also interested in women in archeology because of her cultural and historical interest.
