Magdalena von Geyr

Magdalena von Geyr (born March 28, 1984 in Marburg ) is a former German national basketball player .

Life

The 1.80 m tall player began her basketball career in the youth teams of BC Marburg and advanced to the Bundesliga squad. In 2003 she won the cup and German champion with the BC Marburg .

In 2004 she began studying in Munich and went on a basket hunt for the first division club MTSV Schwabing . In 2007 she ruptured a cruciate ligament and was out for months. When München Basket took over the Bundesliga license from MTSV Schwabing for the 2007/08 season, von Geyr and the entire first division team also moved there. In 2008, Munich Basket withdrew from the women's basketball league, von Geyr moved to TSV 1880 Wasserburg , for whom she played for a year. Afterwards she also played a season with Donau-Ries in Nördlingen . From 2012 to 2017 she played in the 2nd women's basketball league for TS Jahn Munich , after the birth of her child, she helped out again at TS Jahn in the 2018/10 season.

In 2008 von Geyr was appointed to the senior national team and played her first game for the German national basketball team on July 19, 2008 against France . In total, she was used in 21 full international matches. With the German over 30 selection, she became world champion in this age group in July 2017.
