Magic Dick
Magic Dick (* 13. May 1945 in New London , Connecticut , USA bourgeois Richard Salwitz ) is an American musician. He became known as the harmonica player in the J. Geils Band . In addition to the harmonica, he also plays the trumpet and saxophone .
Life
In 1967 he founded the J. Geils Band with John Geils ( vocals , guitar ) and Danny Klein ( bass ), which began as an acoustic classic bluestrio. Later, Peter Wolf (vocals), Seth Justman ( keyboard ) and Stephen Jo Bladd ( drums ) joined and developed into a rock band. In 1986 they disbanded.
Salwitz started his own band with Steve Ramsey (drums) and Jerry Miller (guitar). In 1999 the J. Geils Band did a reunion tour, but the band was not officially reunited until 2006.
