Mahamat Alamine Hamdi (born April 15, 1997 ) is a Qatari high jumper .

Career

Mahmat Hamdi gained his first international experience at the 2015 Military World Games in Mungyeon , South Korea , where he finished sixth with a skipped 2.20 m. The following year he took part in the Asian Indoor Championships in Doha and was there with 2.10 m ninth. He then won the bronze medal at the Arab Junior Championships in Tlemcen with 2.00 m and reached fifth place at the Junior Asian Championships in Ho Chi Minh City with 2.07 m. He qualified for the U20 World Championships in Bydgoszcz , where he won the bronze medal with a jump over 2.23 m. In 2017 a silver medal followed at the Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku and a fourth place at the Asian Championships in Bhubaneswar . He later won the silver medal at the Arab Championships in Radès with 2.13 m. At the beginning of September he was fourth at the Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat with 2.18 m .

In 2018 he again took part in the Asian Indoor Championships in Tehran and won the bronze medal there with 2.15 m behind his compatriot Mutaz Essa Barshim and Keyvan Ghanbarzadeh from Iran. At the end of August he took part in the Asian Games in Jakarta for the first time , where he finished fifth with a 2.24 m jump. The following year he finished seventh at the Asian Championships in Doha with a height of 2.19 m.
