Mahdi Pirjahan ( Persian مهدی پیرجهان, * September 23, 1999 ) is an Iranian hurdler who specializes in the 400 meter hurdles .

Athletic career

Mahdi Pirjahan gained his first international experience at the Junior Asian Championships 2018 in Gifu , where he won the bronze medal in the hurdles in 51.18 seconds. He then finished seventh at the U20 World Championships in Tampere in 51.15 s. The following year he reached sixth place at the Asian Championships in Doha with a new personal best of 50.18 s. He also qualified for the World Championships , which were also held in Doha, where he was eliminated in the first round with 50.46 s . He then won the Military World Games in Wuhan in 49.61 s and did not finish with the Iranian 4 x 100 meter relay in the lead.

In 2019 Pirjahan became the Iranian champion in the 400-meter and 400-meter hurdles.
