In the village, which is located on the six-kilometer-long sandy beach, there are around 22,000 residents who live there all year round, including around 3,500 people from the Scandinavian, Russian or German-Dutch regions. During the main season (May - September), between 70,000 and 80,000 residents live in Mahmutlar in holiday apartments, villas and in the numerous hotels along the Turkish Riviera.
