Mahmutlar is a municipality in the Alanya district and is located 12 km east of Alanya in the Turkish province of Antalya between the Taurus Mountains and the Mediterranean Sea.

In the village, which is located on the six-kilometer-long sandy beach, there are around 22,000 residents who live there all year round, including around 3,500 people from the Scandinavian, Russian or German-Dutch regions. During the main season (May - September), between 70,000 and 80,000 residents live in Mahmutlar in holiday apartments, villas and in the numerous hotels along the Turkish Riviera. Mahmutlar is a classic tourist place.

Since 2012, since the municipality reform in Turkey, Mahmutlar is no longer an independent municipality , but now belongs to Alanya . The local mayor, Ali Çelik, who was in office until the community reform, was replaced by a mayor.
