Mai Nakagawa ( Japanese 中 川 真 依 , Nakagawa Mai ; born April 7, 1987 in Komatsu ) is a Japanese diver . She starts in the 10 m high diving as well as in the 3 m and 10 m synchronized diving.

Nakagawa played her first international championship at the 2005 World Championships in Montreal , where she was ninth with Misako Yamashita in the final of the 10-meter synchronized jumping. The following year, the duo won the silver medal at the Asian Games in Doha . Nakagawa started at the World Championships in Melbourne for the first time in the individual competition from the tower and immediately reached the semi-finals, with Yamashita she was eighth in the synchronized final from the tower. Nakagawa qualified for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. In the individual jumping from the tower she reached the final and was eleventh. In the following year she started with Sayaka Shibusawa for the first time in the 3-meter synchronized jumping, the duo finished eighth at the World Championships in Rome and a year later they won the bronze medal at the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou . The 2011 World Championship in Shanghai was less successful for Nakagawa . With Shibusawa she was eliminated in the preliminary fight, in the individual from the tower she finished 18th in the semifinals.

Nakagawa studies at the University of Kanazawa Gakuin Daigaku and starts for the associated sports team.
