In the first broadcast, entitled “Das Casting” , 38 candidates between the ages of 16 and 30 were selected and presented through an open casting in Cologne , but also by searching other cities on the street, in hospitals or shopping centers. Drag queen Keri Jackson also appeared for the casting. Due to her convincing running style, she was invited to the planned photo shoots of the models, which were themed “The Seven Deadly Sins”. The paraplegic model Nina Wortmann appeared as a guest juror.

In episode 2, entitled “The Duel”, the 20 best were to be selected. The participants had to prove their talent on the catwalk at a fashion show by fashion designer Kay Rainer in Munich , which also featured rapper Moses Pelham and cut artist Adam Saaks. In addition, they should show their acting skills in a TV commercial. As a result, ten girls each were assigned to the jurors Eva Padberg and Karolína Kurková, who also acted as mentors for the girls in their group and taught and supported them. Padberg and Kurková were now facing each other in a competitive situation and each tried to achieve that one participant from their group won.

With episode 3 the coaching phase began and Eva Padberg's group flew to Cape Town , while Karolína Kurková's group traveled to New York City . From now on, the participants were regularly assessed in ten categories and received a pendant for their bracelet for each category they passed. However, a category won could also be withdrawn again. During the evaluation, Padberg and Kurková received support from various celebrities and experts. In New York, star hairdresser Christiaan Houtenbos did the hair and stylist Nevena Borissova dressed them. They were supposed to introduce themselves to Trey Laird from the Laird + Partners agency in a “go-see” . The editor-in-chief of Glamor magazine Andrea Ketterer took part as a guest juror.

In Cape Town this role was taken on by Uschi Obermaier , who had previously supported the participants in taking photos with the fashion photographer Petra van Raaj on the subject of Woodstock . In episode 4 the girls in Cape Town were supposed to present fashion on a yacht at Wellgengang, while in New York they stood in front of the camera of Ben Watts (brother of actress Naomi Watts ) together with the androgynous model Andrej Pejic for photo shoots under the motto "Jewel robbery" . In addition, they had to plan a fashion show for Tommy Hilfiger independently and present it in front of it. In episode 5, they met in Cape Town for acting training at the Waterfront Theater School . Later, the candidates shot a commercial with director Wolf Gresenz in which they stood in front of the camera in a car junkyard with Paul "Tattitude" Harley tattooed all over their body. In an interview with acting coach Lena Lessing , the participants should find themselves. During the final visit to the Ice Model Management agency , they were judged by their boss Steffi Freier as a guest juror. In New York City, meanwhile, professional recordings were made for a sedcard and the girls were introduced to guest judge Ivan Bart, the head of IMG Models .

In episode 6, the remaining 10 participants from both groups flew to Berlin . Photographer Joachim Baldauf took pictures on the subject of "Girlsfight" in a villa. The people in charge of the magazine chose Samantha for recordings for the magazine TV Digital with the photographer Det Kempke. When the fashion label Lala Berlin was looking for models for the Berlin Fashion Week catwalk , the designer Leyla Piedayesh booked the participant Anika. For a campaign for the Lancia Ypsilon , the customer finally selected the candidate Paula.

In the semifinals of episode 7, running training in bikini was carried out in the Padberg group. In the Kurková group, the candidates were supposed to prove their versatility by slipping into a role that represented the opposite of their personality: Samantha was supposed to represent a man, Jenny an old woman and Johanna a ballerina. In the Kurková group, Samantha was the first to drop out, and in the Padberg group, Eva-Marie. The remaining six participants were supposed to play famous Hollywood actresses for the photos taken by fashion director Kai Margrander for Glamor with photographer Steve Hiett: Lysann as Doris Day , Paula as Elizabeth Taylor , Johanna as Audrey Hepburn , Jenny as Grace Kelly , Jennifer as Marilyn Monroe and Anika as Marlene Dietrich . In the meantime, Paula flew to Vienna for a day , where she shot the advertising for the automobile manufacturer in the orangery of Schönbrunn Palace . Anika and Johanna were booked for a Kilian Kerner fashion show and Paula was hired for the catwalk by designer Katja Will from C'est tout .

background

At the beginning of the season it was only published that it will start on January 31, 2012 and will be broadcast on VOX every Tuesday at 9:15 p.m. How many episodes will be broadcast in total was initially not specified, although all programs (except for the finale, which is broadcast live) have already been recorded. The reason for the secrecy was that competing broadcasters should not have the opportunity to position their programs against the broadcast. Even before the start of the new program, VOX was able to acquire two major customers for product placements with Lancia and L'Oréal through its advertising marketer IP Deutschland .

The final took place in Paris , where the remaining candidates had to undergo four final exams. Designer Michael Michalsky , Guido Maria Kretschmer , a representative of the Garnier company , and two representatives of the New York fashion label “The Blonds” took part as guest jurors. The final show was moderated by Jochen Schropp .

The final participant Jennifer Scherman died in Argentina in October 2012 from the effects of a myocarditis caused by a virus infection .
