Model '92

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Model '92 was one of the first large-scale television contests worldwide and probably the first in Germany. The project soon became a global model for television castings and is considered to be one of the pioneers of the later casting shows .

procedure

The partners of Model '92 were the German late-night - talk show Gottschalk Late Night (RTL), the women's magazine Petra and the modeling agency Metropolitan . The organizer was the Munich media manager Christian Seidel , who produced the project for the television show, in which it took a fifteen-minute part. Over 25,000 young women and girls applied for Model '92. Pre-castings were held in major German cities for pre-selection.

Video clips of the last 44 selected candidates were filmed in the spa areas of the Hotel Bachmair am Tegernsee and the Arabella in Munich. The television viewers were shown the first and last name, age, height and measurements as well as telephone numbers to vote on the clips.

On April 29, 1992, Bergisch Gladbacherin Heidi Klum won the TV show . She won the employment contract advertised by the organizer as a model at the New York agency Metropolitan worth 300,000 US dollars. This meant that she was promised this amount over a period of three years as a guarantee income for her work as a model.
