Maidens is a village in the Scottish council area of South Ayrshire . It is located around twelve kilometers north of Girvan and 18 km southwest of Ayr on the coast of the Lower Firth of Clyde . The rock formations along the coastline form a natural harbor near Maidens . As part of the 2011 census, Maiden's population was determined to be 461.

The A719 (Ayr - Turnberry ) runs directly through the village and connects it to the trunk road network. The A77 runs two kilometers to the east . North of Maidens is Culzean Castle, one of the most important tourist attractions in South Ayrshire. Numerous buildings in the palace complex are listed. The extensive facilities of the Turnberry Golf Club extend directly south of the village .
