Carrick, Cumnock and Doon Valley is a constituency for the Scottish Parliament . It was introduced in 1999 as one of nine constituencies in the electoral region of South of Scotland , which was redesigned and renamed South Scotland as part of the constituency revision in 2011 . The boundaries of the constituency of Carrick, Cumnock and Doon Valley were redrawn. Former areas of the constituency of Ayr north of Ayr and Troon were added to Carrick, Cumnock and Doon Valley. In contrast, the southeastern urban areas of Ayr went to the constituency of Ayr. The constituency includes areas of the East Ayrshire and South Ayrshire council areas and sends one MP.

The constituency covers an area of ​​2070.4 km 2 . In the 2011 census survey, a total of 76,445 people lived within its borders.
