Galloway and West Dumfries is a constituency for the Scottish Parliament . It was introduced in the course of the constituencies' revision in 2011 as one of nine constituencies in the electoral region of South of Scotland . It covers large parts of the former constituency of Galloway and Upper Nithsdale , including the western part of the city of Dumfries in the Council Area Dumfries and Galloway . The constituency sends a representative.

The constituency covers an area of ​​3,636 km 2 . In the 2011 census survey, a total of 74,164 people lived within its borders.
