Midlothian South, Tweeddale and Lauderdale is a constituency for the Scottish Parliament . It was introduced as one of nine constituencies in the electoral region of South Scotland as part of the constituency revision in 2011 . It covers large parts of the former constituency of Midlothian , including the cities of Galashiels and Penicuik in the Council Areas of Midlothian and Scottish Borders . The constituency sends a representative.
The constituency covers an area of 1748.1 km 2 . In the 2011 census survey, a total of 75,569 people lived within its borders.
