Roxburgh and Berwickshire was a constituency for the Scottish Parliament . It was introduced in 1999 as one of nine constituencies in the electoral region of South of Scotland , which was redesigned and renamed South Scotland as part of the constituency revision in 2011 . Here the constituency of Roxburgh and Berwickshire was abolished. Most of Roxburgh and Berwickshire went to the new constituency of Ettrick, Roxburgh and Berwickshire . Roxburgh and Berwickshire covered large areas of the Scottish Borders council area and sent one MP. In the 2001 census survey, a total of 58,409 people lived within its borders.
