Maidstone United (officially: Maidstone United Football Club) - also known as The Stones , The Old Maiden and Invicta - is an English football club from Maidstone , Kent , which currently plays in the National League South , the sixth highest division in England. The club's venue is Homelands, which has 3,535 seats.
history
The current club is a continuation of the club of the same name from 1897 , which was a member of the Football League from 1989 to 1992 and had to leave it after the financial ruin.
The successor club's greatest successes were winning the Kent League in 2002 and 2006. In the 1992/93 season, the club qualified for the first round of the FA Cup and lost to Swansea City .
