The Main Bridge Retzbach-Zellingen is a 566 m long structure that spans the Main at kilometer 234.69 between Retzbach and Zellingen in Lower Franconia , the Main-Spessart Railway at Retzbach-Zellingen station as well as the federal road 27 and municipal roads. The road bridge has two lanes and a one-sided bike and walkway. It is located north of Zellingen and is part of State Road 2437, which, as part of the Zellingen bypass, leads from Lohr am Main to Thüngen . The structure was erected between 1991 and 1993 to relieve the old Zellingen Main Bridge.

The prestressed concrete bridge is curved in plan and has the continuous beam as a structural system in the longitudinal direction . The span for the nine-span road overpass is 41.5 m, 46.0 m, 46.0 m, 50.0 m, 55.0 m, 60.0 m, 66.5 m, 126.0 m and 75.0 m, which results in a total span of 566 m.

Power field

In the transverse direction, the superstructure is designed as a single-cell hollow box cross-section with a variable overall height. The construction height of the six eastern foreland fields increases linearly from 2.09 m at the east abutment to 3.09 m. In the middle of the river opening, the construction height is also 3.09 m, above the river pillars it increases to 6.89 m. The prestressing consists of internal tendons . The massive pillars and abutments are all clad in red sandstone .

The bridge section over the Main and the neighboring fields were built using cantilever arches . The six eastern bridge fields were concreted using the incremental launching method .
