The building constructed by the architect Léon Ginain with a living space of 11,000 m² is embedded in a two-hectare park and houses over 150 residents. Since 2009 the institution has been under the direction of the French branch of the Order of Malta ( Ordre de Malte France ). In 1983 the building was added to the list of French architectural monuments ( Base Mérimée ) as Monument historique .

The building has three large wings that are horseshoe-shaped and enclose the park. Three other buildings frame a square courtyard with the main building.

In the middle of the main building is the single-nave chapel divided into three bays . Six high arched windows illuminate the interior, which ends in a semicircular apse . This is followed by a slender bell tower, through which a passage leads to the garden.

A media library has now been set up in the former laundry .
