The maize pond (on older official maps also majesty pond) is a pond of less than 3 hectares in the Fünfseenland . It is located in the Maistätter Forest (also known as Majestätwald ) betweenmonthshausen and Pähl and just on the southern edge of the Berndorfer Buchet ridge . Its inlet in the northeast is only a few hundred meters long, in the south it drains through a sluice and a 700 m long stream into the Kinschbach .

The whole area is part of the large nature reserve " Starnberger See and adjacent areas to the west "

The pond has a small swimming area in the east and is overgrown with reeds in the north.
