Berndorfer Buchet , located in the Fünfseenland between Lake Starnberg and Ammersee , is an elevation of local geographic importance in the northern Bavarian Alpine foothills at 760 m above sea level. NN at the apex, to which - although far in front of the actual Alpine region - at least some criteria for mountains or mountain peaks are applicable.

The dominance of the apex in Berndorfer Buchet is about 21 km (based on the Hohen Peißenberg at 988 m). Up to this distance it towers above all other elevations. The notch height can be calculated as approx. 131 m (based on a point in the south near Kampberg, 629 above sea level, as the lowest point and the ridge between Riegsee and Sindelsdorf, 833 m above sea level, as the associated higher mountain). In a radius of 5 kilometers, at the foot of the ridge, is the Ammersee near Pähl, 533 m above sea level. NN, and thus a height of the Berndorfer Buchet above ground of 227 m ( relief energy ). The Berndorfer Buchet towers above all the elevations in the area, it is wooded, the hilltop is pathless, there is no real view. In its vicinity lie the sources of the Maisinger Bach, which is an important tributary to Lake Starnberg, to the north and east . The streams that arise west of Berndorfer Buchet drain to the nearby Pähler Schlucht nature reserve with its nationally known waterfall. Almost all of the main streams of the Fünfseenland have their headwaters here within a radius of 2 km, including the Kienbach . The Olympic road passes through the Berndorfer Buchet south, before descending towards Weilheim. The nearby Gut Kerschlach and the nature reserves in the area are of great tourist interest .
