Small tractor BMA S1 with single-point horse plow

The S1 small tractor was produced by Brandiser Maschinen- und Apparatebau KG (BMA) from 1961 in Brandis (Leipzig district, GDR). It was developed for internal transport work in industry and agriculture on solid roads. The small tugs S1 and S1a were at the beginning of the tractor construction at BMA, which was continued with the small tugs DFZ 322 and DFZ 632 .

construction

The S1 small tractor is built on a box frame. Its air-cooled single-cylinder four-stroke diesel engine came from the Zittauer Robur works (type: 1 NVD 12.5 / 9 SL ). The transmission, also from Robur, is a sliding gear with three forward gears and one reverse gear. The S1 has rear-wheel drive. There is no hydraulic system, but the drum brakes on the rear wheels are operated hydraulically using a foot pedal. The parking brake also acts on the rear wheels via a cable.
