The Phenomenon Granit 27 is a light truck from the VEB motor vehicle factory Phenomenon Zittau . The two-tonne truck with rear-wheel drive was located in the former GDR vehicle construction above the Framo V 901 and below the IFA H3A .

history

The vehicle was based on the Granit 1500 phenomenon (1.5 t payload), which was produced by Phenomenon Werke Gustav Hiller AG from 1941 . As a state-owned company (VEB) motor vehicle factory phenomena , the production of a stationary engine IFA-Granit 27 began in 1948 . In 1948, the company presented this further development, now known as Granit 27 after its 2.7-liter displacement, at the Leipzig Trade Fair . The first series vehicles left the factory in 1950. The payload was increased to 2 tons in 1951.

The aim of operations manager Langer was to offer as many different construction variants as possible in independent development work and to adhere to the basic concept of undemanding, air-cooled engines. In addition to various bodies, an all-wheel-drive vehicle with a shortened wheelbase was added to the range. In 1953, annual emissions of 4,100 vehicles were achieved, which was roughly double the pre-war level. Exports also picked up quickly.

The focus of further development was on more modern, more powerful engines that were used in the successor model, the Granit 30K . The Granit 32 diesel variant, announced in 1951, was first put into series production in 1953, parallel to the Granit 30K.
