The traction tractors of the series Progress ZT 320 and 323 are universal tractors of the 20 kN traction class, which were manufactured in the GDR from 1984 as the successor to the ZT 300 series . The manufacturer was the VEB Tractorswerk Schönebeck (Elbe) , which belonged to the Combine Progress Agricultural Machinery .
history
Planning began at the end of the 1970s, the pilot series started on December 19, 1983. The vehicles were not completely redeveloped, rather it was an extensive facelift. The ZT 320 model was actually obsolete when production started. The main reason for this was the lack of all-wheel drive. That is why it was only built in small numbers; VEB concentrated on the production of the all-wheel drive, but otherwise structurally identical ZT 323.
technology
The ZT 320 is a half-frame construction tractor . It is essentially based on its predecessor, the ZT 300. The engine is the 4 VD 14.5 / 12-1 SRW inline four-cylinder diesel engine in a revised form with still 74 kW, but with a reduced specific fuel consumption. Only the rear wheels are driven on the ZT 320. The ZT 323, on the other hand, also has an automatically engaged front-wheel drive. The power is transmitted from the engine via a DK 80 double clutch to a helical powershift transmission with three groups of four gears. The first and second groups are reversible . With the pneumatically operated second stage of the double clutch, an underload shift stage can be switched on via a roller freewheel and the motorized PTO shaft. The engine- linked PTO shaft rotates at 540 min −1 at 1800 min −1 engine speed; the clutch-dependent power take-off shaft rotates at 1000 min -1 . The steering of the tractor is fully hydraulic, which means that a force of 30 to 50 N has to be used to steer, the steering column is adjustable. The hydraulically operated sliding shoe brake only acts on the rear wheels on the ZT 320, on all wheels on the ZT 323 and can also act as a steering brake in both cases. The handbrake acts as a band brake on both rear wheels, the trailer brake is operated with compressed air. The tractor is equipped with a three-point power lift for attachments . The working device on the three-point power lift is optimally pressed onto the rear axle by means of control hydraulics, which minimizes wheel slip. The driver's cab is vibration-dampened, noise-insulated and overturn-proof. The driver's seat is air-suspended. Heating and air conditioning were also available as optional equipment. After the introduction of central lubrication of the engine, the series was designated as ZT 320-A and ZT 323-A from 1985. This marking was retained until production was discontinued in 1990.
