The T 185 is a mobile excavator with hydraulic drive built in the VEB Weimar factory from 1979 .

The T 185 excavator is a pilot series built with 90 pieces from the T 174 to the T 188 and was therefore very similar to its predecessor. Since the load capacity was not increased compared to the T 174 (it was also 2.5 t here) and the maintenance of individual components was not made more efficient, the T 185 model did not go into series production. The knowledge gained flowed into the development of the successor model T 188.

Various attachments, such as backhoe equipment or orange peel grabs, can also be mounted on the T 185.
