History of origin

The game series actually begins with the video game Power Factory Featuring C + C Music Factory from 1992, in which the music group C + C Music Factory appears and commentates on the music videos created by the players . This gave rise to the idea of making a video game series that was also published in 1992 using the copy and paste process.

Gameplay

In the game, the player is asked to produce a music video in which certain scenes or effects must be present. He has the opportunity to choose from three different songs per game, these should be put together according to the wishes of certain actors such as a boxer or the parents of the main actors during the duration of the song.

To do this, he can choose between three different scenes that run below the main video and can be selected with the A, B or C buttons. In addition, effects such as lyrics, mixers or the tinting of the videos with the colors red, green and blue can be switched on. The game's scenes are taken from the actual music video or from public domain films like The Phantom of the Opera .

Power Factory Featuring C + C Music Factory

The first video game Power Factory Featuring C + C Music Factory was the trigger for the video game series, but is not directly part of the Make My Video series. The video scenes for the game were directed by Chris Painter . The main characters were Phil LaMarr and Eugene Lamont Johnson .

Her boss forces her to produce over 1,000 music videos a day, and the player is supposed to support her as a new employee in her work. If the player fails to meet the conditions, Dwayne and Franklin will be punished for the mistakes or David Cole and Robert Clivillés from C + C Music Factory will rate the videos poorly.

The player could choose between the music videos Gonna Make You Sweat , Things That Make You Go Hmmm ... and Here We Go Let's Rock & Roll .

This game was played in a pub where Tiger and Joey play pool and the bar's TV shows the latest INXS music video. The visitors to the bar are asking the player to make a better music video to suit his taste. If the player manages this task, he can watch a reward video, otherwise the visitor receives an angry comment.

Kris Kross: Make My Video

Kris Kross: Make My Video is the second official game in the series. The movie scenes this time show host Boyd Packer, played by Richard McGregor , on Make My Video , asking viewers to come up with ideas for a new Kris Kross music video. He talks to the callers of his show and the player has to meet the conditions of the audience again, otherwise he is threatened with bad criticism. The film scenes were again directed by Chris Painter.
