Malaikallan ( Tamil : மலைக்கள்ளன்) is a Tamil film by SM Sreeramulu Naidu from 1954. It is based on the Robin Hood story.
action
The outlaw Kumaraveeran robs the rich and distributes his booty to the poor. He lives a double life and during the day he hides behind his second identity as the Muslim trader Abdul Rahim. Kumaraveeran falls in love with the beautiful Poonkothai whom he has freed from the clutches of kidnappers. The police later used them to catch Kumaraveeran. The police officer turns out to be the bandit's brother.
background
In addition to the dialogues, author Karunanidhi also uses the selection of lyrics for the DMK political message. The lyrics to the music of SM Subbaiah Naidu come from Namakkal Kavingar , Balasubramanyam , Bharatidasan , TN Ramaiah Das and Makkalanban . A piece sung by TM Soundararajan based on a text by the Tamil poet Bharatidasan was particularly successful .
MG Ramachandran also established his political Superman image with his very own sense of justice through this film.
Malaikkallan was so successful that the film studio in 1955 under the direction of Sreeramulu Naidu a Hindi - remake titled Azad did make. The main roles were played by Dilip Kumar and Meena Kumari .

How long will they fool us in this land of ours? We'll open schools in every street and see that none is unlettered. We'll teach many vocations and banish starvation, because they don't even get a glimpse of the hoarded money. Why do they keep yelling? There is no god, because he has not shown himself for far too long. - ↑ MSS Pandian as before
