Malao movie
Malao Film is an independent film production company based in Beverly Hills , which was founded in 2012 by Matthias Rosenberger. The US company has additional branches in Australia and Germany . The company's own logo shows the silhouette of a floating girl with three balloons in her hand against the background of the sun as well as Malao's motto “the twinkle in your eyes” (“The twinkle in your eyes”).
The very first production Spaghetti for Two (based on the book of the same name by Federica de Cesco ) attracted international attention and received a number of other prizes and awards at international film festivals in addition to the "Predicate particularly valuable" from the German Film and Media Assessment (FBW).
2012 Malao film acquired the film rights of Michael Ende's hit novel " Jim Button and Luke the Engine Driver " and produced in cooperation with the Munich Rat Pack Filmproduktion , Warner Bros . Germany and Studio Babelsberg the German-language adaptation of the famous and award-winning children's classic. The shooting took place under the direction of Dennis Gansel ( Die Welle , Mechanic: Resurrection ) from October 2016 to March 2017 in the Filmpark and Studio Babelsberg , Potsdam - Babelsberg , Munich - Geiselgasteig as well as in Cape Town and the surrounding area. The film was released in German cinemas on March 29, 2018.
