Mali Finn

Mali Finn (born Mary Alice Mann ; born March 8, 1938 in Danville , Illinois , USA ; † November 28, 2007 in Sonoma , California , USA ) was an American casting agent.

biography

Mali Finn, although born in Illinois, later grew up in Minneapolis , Minnesota , where she graduated from the University of Minnesota , where she graduated with a degree in drama . Finn started out teaching English and acting at a school in Holland , Michigan . Here she met the casting agent Don Finn, whom she married, and who introduced her to the subject matter of the selection process in film and television.

In the early 1980s, the couple, who had a son, moved to Newport Beach , California . In 1987, Finn directed the casting for her first feature film, the TV movie American Harvest . Finn's breakthrough as a casting agent wasn't until 1991 when she signed the actors for Terminator 2 - Reckoning Day .

Over the course of her two-decade career, Finn directed the casting of around 90 feature films and, in 2004, even the selection process for the television series Wonderfalls . Well-known films were the 1997 disaster drama Titanic , The Green Mile , produced in 1999 and in 2002 K-19 - Showdown in the Deep . Finn's last film would be the historical epic The Assassination of Jesse James by Coward Robert Ford .

In 2006, Finn developed skin cancer from which she died in November 2007, at the age of 69, in her Sonoma home.
