Malte Rühmann
Malte Rühmann (born December 23, 1960 in Stördorf ; † May 11, 2008 in Heiligenberg (Lake Constance district) ) was a German composer , pianist and organist .
Life
Malte Rühmann received piano lessons as a child and wrote his first composition at the age of 11. In Hamburg he studied philosophy, theology and musicology, as well as composition with Alfred Schnittke , whose work had a lasting influence on him. After completing his composition diploma, Rühmann first became an organist in Heiligenstedten in Schleswig-Holstein . In addition, he went on numerous concert tours as an organist and pianist and gave lectures on philosophical and theological topics. Malte Rühmann has lived in Berlin-Lichterfelde since 2006, where he was particularly involved in the evangelical Johann Sebastian Bach community.
