Mama Mirabelle's Animal Cinema (Original Title: Mama Mirabelle's Home Movies ) is a British - American animated series that was produced between 2007 and 2008 . The series is aimed at preschool children and aims to impart knowledge about countries , animals and plants  as well as a considerate approach to nature .

Several animal children in the African savannah have different questions that they ask Mama Mirabelle, the elephant lady. In her film collection, which consists of animal documentaries from National Geographic and the BBC , she always finds a suitable answer to the question. Mama Mirabelle has traveled all over the world, had many adventures and thus acquired knowledge and experience.

Production and publication

The series was produced between 2007 and 2008 and was the result of a British-American collaboration. This resulted in 52 episodes. Directed by Leo Nielsen . Lester Barnes, David Beal and Jeffrey Clyburn contributed to the music. Here, African music and songs by Vanessa Williams are used, which are intended to accompany the event.

The German premiere took place on April 7, 2008 on Disney Channel . The series was first broadcast on free TV on August 17, 2009 on KIKA . Further broadcasts were also made on ORF eins , Disney Junior and Playhouse Disney .

Episode no. 4 caused some amusement, in the German version of which the (for adults) ambiguous word "tail" often appeared.
