Mametz ( Picard : Mamé) is a commune Déléguée in the northern French municipality Carnoy's Mametz with 183 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Somme in the region of Hauts-de-France .
geography
The community on the D64 département road, around 6.5 km east of Albert , is predominantly structured agrarian.
history
The municipality, whose rule is mentioned in the early 14th century, was fiercely contested in the Battle of the Somme in July 1916 and also in August 1918 and was completely destroyed. She received the Croix de guerre 1914–1918 as an award .
On January 1, 2019, the municipality of Mametz merged with Carnoy to form the Commune nouvelle Carnoy-Mametz. Since then it has had the status of a Commune déléguée. The municipality of Mametz belonged to the canton of Albert and was part of the Communauté de communes du Pays du Coquelicot .
