Mamoa do Alto do Cotorino
The Mamoa do Alto do Cotorino ( port. For: grave hills of Alto do Cotorino) and Alto do Catorino called, is located in the former municipality of Lixa do Alvão (now Alvão ) west of the county seat Vila Pouca de Aguiar , north of the national road N 206 in of the Região Norte in Portugal .
The steep burial mound ( Mamoa ) has a diameter of about 20.0 m. In the hill, eight bearing stones, which reach up to the hilltop, form the polygonal chamber of an anta without a capstone. A corridor does not seem to have existed. What is remarkable is the prominent location compared to the original nine megalithic systems south of the street. Today the remains of four graves can still be seen there.
