Mané is both a municipality ( commune rurale in French ) and a department encompassing the same area in the West African state of Burkina Faso in the Center-Nord region and the province of Sanmatenga . The community has 46,297 inhabitants in 46 villages, the majority of them Mossi .

Mané was an independent empire until it was conquered by the French at the end of the 19th century.
