action

The crook Frank Murray is caught with 10,000 pounds of counterfeit money that he stole from the photographer Thomas Maple's safe. The police come to their investigation on Maple, who asks James Helder, a well-known criminal, for help. Helder kills the photographer to protect himself. Stella Maple, the wife of Maple and ex-lover of Helder, wants to avenge her husband and gives the police clues about Helder. This kidnaps Stella's secretary Kay Simpson in order to bribe her and capitalize on it. With the help of Murray, the police set a trap for Helder and free Kay Simpson and arrest Helder.

Reviews

In their Das Edgar Wallace Lexikon from 2004, Joachim Kramp and Jürgen Wehnert cite a review of the film in the 1961 Monthly Film Bulletin . She describes the film as a "tight and impulsive addition to the Edgar Wallace series". She praises Elvi Hale's acting as "a secretary who is a little too keen on her own gain." The film has "few surprises, but the performances are quite usable, and events are happening at a smart pace."
