Manfred Balkenohl

Manfred Balkenohl (born June 21, 1936 in Arnsberg ) is a Catholic theologian .

Life

Manfred Balkenohl studied theology , psychology , philosophy , pedagogy , German and history at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster . Then he took up a scientific job there. He was also a teacher at the Annette-von-Droste-Hülshoff-Gymnasium in Münster.

Manfred Balkenohl is Catholic, married and the father of four sons.

Scientific career

In 1969, Balkenohl became a lecturer in anthropology and theology at the German Institute for Scientific Education in Münster. In 1973 he became a lecturer for the training and further education of church workers (speakers, deacons , catechists ) in the Diocese of Osnabrück .

After teaching Christian social sciences at the University of Osnabrück , he became Professor of Moral Theology at the Universities of Osnabrück and Vechta in 1976 .

Balkenohl is the author of numerous moral theological, socio-ethical and anthropological publications. In the area of bioethics , for example with regard to the problem of brain death and organ transplantation , he set his journalistic focus.
