Manfred Bauer (March 4, 1932 - March 5, 2014 ) was a German football player . For the SC Rotation Leipzig he played from 1954 to 1963 in the GDR Oberliga , the top division in GDR football . He was a multiple B national player.

Athletic career

Manfred Bauer began his football career as a student at TG Stötteritz in 1941. Immediately after the end of the Second World War , he joined the newly founded sports club Stötteritz, where he was active until 1949. He then moved to the newly created company sports community (BSG) Erich Zeigner Leipzig (later renamed BSG Einheit Ost ), where he played his first three games in the first men's team in the 1951/52 season in the second-rate GDR league . He did not appear there until 1954, only when during the 1954/55 season the BSG Einheit Ost, which had meanwhile risen to the GDR Oberliga, was absorbed into the new SC Rotation Leipzig, Bauer also played the first seven league games for the Leipzig sports club, which he did all graduated in the second half of the season. In the 1956 season (calendar year rhythm) he was already a regular player with 25 appearances in 26 completed point games as a left defender. Bauer remained in the SC rotation as a full-back until 1960.
