Manfred Bogusch

Manfred Bogusch (born June 20, 1939 in Peitz , † August 19, 2002 in Cottbus ) was a German football player. For the army sports community Vorwärts Cottbus he played from 1965 to 1972 in the GDR league .

Athletic career

In his birthplace Peitz, Manfred Bogusch began to play organized football in 1949. Most recently he played for the company sports community (BSG) Traktor Peitz until 1960 . For the 1961/62 season he moved to BSG Lokomotive Cottbus in the fourth class district league .

Bogusch played his first games in the second-rate GDR league in the 1965/66 season for Vorwärts Cottbus. In the 30 league games he was used as a striker in 17 encounters, in which he scored six goals. In the following five seasons he was always a regular in the army team. In the 146 league games played by Cottbus during this time, he was used 127 times and was the top scorer of his team in 1967 and 1968 with ten and seven goals respectively. As a 32-year-old Bogusch went into his last GDR league season. In 1971/72 he was only called up in two league games and could not score a goal for the first time in his GDR league career. After 146 league games and 38 goals, Bogusch ended his career in the higher class leagues in 1972. Until 1974 he played for the 2nd team of Vorwärts Cottbus in the district league. In 1973 he had already taken over the training of the youngsters at ASG Vorwärts.
