Manfred Freisler
Manfred Freisler (born October 28, 1957 in Hochheim am Main ) is a former German handball player. At the Handball World Cup in 1978 he was world champion with the German national team . For this he received the silver laurel leaf from the Federal President - together with the national team .
Freisler began playing handball at the TG Hochheim. After playing a Bundesliga season at TuS Eintracht Wiesbaden , he switched to TV Großwallstadt . With the TVG he achieved three European Cup victories and five German championships. After a season for SG Wallau / Massenheim , he let his career end with Eintracht Wiesbaden.
Freisler, who now works as an anti-aggression coach, scored 271 goals (eight of them by seven meters ) in 122 international matches. He made his international debut on November 5, 1976 in Stuttgart against Czechoslovakia.
