Manfred Hofmann (born January 30, 1948 in Großwallstadt ) is a German handball trainer and former handball goalkeeper . Hofmann played 110 international matches for the Federal Republic of Germany . When he was active, he weighed 92 kg and was 1.91 m long.

Manfred Hofmann played for TV Großwallstadt . In 1978 he became handball world champion with the German national team . He held three seven meters in the final against the Olympic champion USSR and thus played a major role in the success. In 1979 Manfred Hofmann was handball player of the year in Germany. On March 6, 1976, he held in the Olympic qualifying game against the GDR in Karl-Marx-Stadt with a score of 8:11 in stoppage time, a seven-meter throw and thus enabled the team of the Federal Republic of Germany to participate in the Olympic Games in Montreal .

He stayed loyal to TV Großwallstadt for 16 years and played over 1000 games. On June 12, 1982 he said goodbye to competitive sports. For his sporting success he received the silver bay leaf .

Manfred Hofmann is married and has two children. Until his retirement in February 2010, he worked as a department director at Sparkasse Hanau . Manfred Hofmann has been a trainer at the TVG Academy since 2009. In August 2017 he took over the position of sporting director at TV Großwallstadt. Since September 2017 he has also been training the men's team from the TVG.
