Surname

etymology

The name Großwallstadt is made up of the Old High German words Walah for novels and stat for home. As an explanation, this results in the residence of the Romans . The sometimes used name additions large and king as well as the Latinized differentiations maior or major (the greater), regis (of the king), trans Morgum (above the Main) and ex ista parte Mogi (from this main part) should distinguish it from Kleinwallstadt . The addition king refers to the manorial rule of the king.
