Geographical location

The main town of Faulbach is in the Bavarian Lower Main region and is part of the Bavarian Spessart Nature Park . The topographically highest point of the municipality is 405  m above sea level. NN (location) on the eastern slope of the Hohe Berg , the lowest is in the Main at 129  m above sea level. NN (location) . The Franconian Marienweg leads through Faulbach .

history

Until the church is planted

According to the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss 1803, the office of the Archbishopric Mainz became part of the newly formed Principality of Aschaffenburg of the Prince Primate of Dalberg , with which (now a department of the Grand Duchy of Frankfurt ) it finally fell to Bavaria . In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria, today's municipality was created with the municipal edict of 1818 .

Administrative history

In 1862 the district office of Marktheidenfeld was formed, on whose administrative area Faulbach was located. In 1939, as everywhere in the German Reich, the designation district was introduced. Faulbach was now one of the 47 communities in the Marktheidenfeld district . With the dissolution of the Marktheidenfeld district, Faulbach came to the newly formed Miltenberg district on July 1, 1972 .

Faulbach notch

In Faulbach there is one of the oldest notches (parish fair) in the wider region. Documented since 1870, but probably a lot older, the parish fair is celebrated once a year in the village. Here, for example, the bachelors of the village put up a church fair tree in accordance with Franconian traditions.

Since 2010 the parish fair has been organized and organized by the “Faulbacher Curb since 1870 eV” association founded for this purpose.

In 2017 there were 840 jobs subject to social security contributions in the municipality. Of the resident population, 1197 people were in an employment relationship subject to compulsory insurance.
