The Sparkasse Hanau is a public-law savings bank based in Hanau in Hesse . Its business area is the city of Hanau and the former district of Hanau .

history

The bank was created in 1991 from the merger of the Stadtsparkasse and Landesleihbank Hanau with the Kreissparkasse Hanau founded on January 3, 1899. The Stadtsparkasse and Landesleihbank Hanau, for its part, emerged on January 1, 1955 from the merger of the Hanau Stadtsparkasse, founded on August 1, 1841, with the Hanau Landesleihbank established on April 10, 1738. The Sparkasse is run by the Hanau Savings Bank Association, to which the City of Hanau and the Main-Kinzig District belong.

On August 1, 2007, the chairman of the board, Alfred Merz, retired after 44 years in the service of the Sparkasse and 26 years on the board. As of August 1, 2007, Robert Restani, who was most recently a member of the management board of KarstadtQuelle Bank (today: Valovis Commercial Bank ), was appointed chairman of the board . Robert Restani joined Frankfurter Sparkasse as CEO on November 1, 2015. Ingo Wiedemeier was his successor as chairman of the board at Sparkasse Hanau.
