Manfred Hohmann

Manfred Hohmann (born July 20, 1950 in Fulda ) is a German obstetrician and perinatal doctor.

Life

As the son of a master carpenter, Hohmann initially trained as a carpenter after graduating from high school. After doing community service , he began to study medicine at the Philipps University of Marburg . In 1974 he became active in the Corps Teutonia Marburg . When he was inactive , he moved to the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen and the Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg . He passed the state examination in 1980 and went to the Justus Liebig University in Giessen in 1981 . In 1983 he was promoted to Dr. med. PhD . From 1987 to 1989 he was for a research stay at the University of Vermont . Returning to Gießen as a senior physician , he completed his habilitation in 1991 with his corps brother Wolfgang Künzel , the then director of the university women's clinic. The Herford Clinic elected him head physician in 1996 . He is a professor in the University Medicine at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz .
