Manfred Kittlaus

Manfred Kittlaus (* December 24, 1937 ; † September 3, 2004 in Berlin-Spandau ) was the long-time head of the Central Investigation Group for Government and Association Crime (ZERV) in connection with the GDR and reunification .

Kittlaus led 1991-1998 ZERV and entered the 1998 retirement . Most recently he made a name for himself nationwide in ZERV as an uncompromising and committed educator. In 1955 he began his apprenticeship in administration in Berlin-Charlottenburg . From 1962 he was with the criminal police, between 1974 and 1985 head of the police state security, state criminal director and later state police director in Berlin. He retired in 1998 as the Chief Executive Officer of the Police Commissioner.

Manfred Kittlaus was responsible for a police reform in the 1990s.

On September 3, 2004, Manfred Kittlaus was found dead in his car. He probably died of a heart attack . The Berlin public prosecutor's office ruled out third-party debt.

His grave is on the state's own cemetery in Heerstraße in Berlin-Westend (grave location: II-W10a-48).
