Manfred Molzberger

Manfred Molzberger (born January 27, 1936 in Gummersbach ; † March 1, 2003 ibid) was a German athlete and Olympian. He was multiple German long jump champion .

The athlete from TSV 1888 Dieringhausen won his first German championship in 1956 with 7.59 m. Even before that, he developed into one of the best long jumpers of his time and in 1954 he became the German youth long jump champion.

From 1956 to 1959 Manfred Molzberger won four consecutive German championships as well as three indoor titles in the long jump. In 1958 he took part in the European Championships in Stockholm and in 1960 in the Olympic Games in Rome . There he finished ninth with a width of 7.49 m.

In 1959 he moved from SG Olympia Oberberg to ASV Köln . The last medal of his career was the bronze medal of the German championships in 1962.

He achieved his personal best with 7.84 m in 1960 in an international match against Switzerland .

He had a competition weight of 77 kg with a height of 1.88 m.
